Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a believed to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
