This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement within the fandom. From the gradual unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to trainers developing firm views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.

With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive appearances that emphasize their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. That's why the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of either and enjoy a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the creature and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a firm belief – will defend their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Several previous official descriptions note their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it employs its horn to hoard it all, which is true Taurus energy.

Gemini – Mega Medicham

Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, offering an endless fountain of chatter to those who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very simple to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very similar to a people-smart Gemini.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for frequently becoming absorbed in their emotions. Fans were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, even if for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The sign famous for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a plan.

Libra – Super Audino

Observe this sweet, sensitive being, who uses the feelers on its ears to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about others.

Scorpio – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and retribution, making them the ideal match with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some version of a “silly small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure

Aloof air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire sign that is closest to a fire sign – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire typing matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer.
