Performer Refutes Anti-Vaccine Stance Following Narrating Controversial Coronavirus Film

The "Taken" star has lent his narration to a recent film that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccinations and commends one-time health official the political figure.

The Film's Provocative Foundation

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a popular book published by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was caused by a bad strain of the influenza shot.

Her co-author, a producer, has also written books with controversial radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the project.

A Strong Denial

Representatives for Neeson have released a response pushing back against claims that he supports anti-vax views.

"We all acknowledge that corruption may occur within the medical sector, but that must not be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His long work with Unicef highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

The response continued that the actor was not involved in crafting the project's messaging and that inquiries about its claims should be directed to the creators.

Key Assertions Featured in the Documentary

As presented, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "research has become deeply politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The film further attacks pandemic restrictions, saying they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Context and Recent Disputes

The documentary further cites a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the global health body reiterating no evidence has been found.

A Previous Statement of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has previously expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

The film concludes with Neeson's voice stating, "This is not the conclusion of our narrative. Rather, it is the dawn of a new chapter."
